this craft is crackers!

Oh, i love this so much, especially since i was just given 1.3 kg of pretzels!!! OF course i think you should customise this and make a decrepit haunted old Pretzel cabin.

WHAT'S ON THE SLAB- you're in the jungle now baby

Sometimes i do a little experimental sewing/crafting, or something other than the dollies that you see at ghouliebabies.com and i thought i would share some of these projects.

This one is a collection of brooches and hair clips with a leopard print theme.

FEAST on me

This is a child's recipe for Coconut Rice Krispie Snowmen. I think there is a touch of "evil snowman nightmares" in it, it would be fabulous for Halloween!! (By the way if you didn't realise Rice Krispies are similar to our Rice Bubbles here in Australia.)
By the way what is Marshmallow fluff?? I don't believe we have it here.

All Hail Mrs Beeton

Like all modern Mauldin ladies i have a morbid curiosity for Victorian Domestic Goddesses. Possibly because my own Domestic Gothess halo is want to tarnish.
So i defer to the book of all knoweledge "Mrs Beeton's Cookery Book".
For those unfamiliar with Domestic Doyen Mrs Beeton, she was the Martha Stewart/ Delia Smith of her time, she published regular columns and her book of household managment between 1859 to 1861.

Anyhow apart from her essential advice on keeping ones servants under control, menu planning and recipes, her book includes diagrams for such culinary crafts and "trussing" (string art for fowl), carving (aka Texas chainsaw chop shop) and the all important presentation of dishes. My favorite being the presentation of Poultry- featuring feet and feather. I firmly believe that there isn't enough feet in cooking these days. See more of Mrs Beeton here

Cat Quotes of the day

these tickled the whiskers of we dedicated cat staff at the Maudlin Mansion-

"Cat's aren't clean, they're just covered with cat spit "- John S. Nichols
(We wont be telling Miss Jeannie Kitty Princess that one, she firmly believes in the enzyme theory and we are happy to believe in that too, considering the close proximity in which we live)

"There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast!"- anon
This however is proven fact!
